The Ontario By Bike Network is a great resource when planning a cycling trip in Cambridge and across Waterloo Region. Accommodations, restaurants, cafes, attractions, visitor information centres, bike stores and other businesses participating in the Ontario By Bike Network offer specific services and amenities that cater to the needs of cyclists. This may include overnight secure bike storage, healthy food options and easy access to cycling information.

About Ontario By Bike™

The Ontario By Bike™ Network is a program certifying and promoting bicycle-friendly businesses and cycle tourism in a growing number of regions across Ontario. The Network is open to accommodations, food services, attractions, business areas and cycling related businesses and organizations supporting the development of cycle tourism. For cyclists, the Ontario By Bike™ Network offers a variety of information on cycling in Ontario, inspiring visitors and residents to explore more by bike. The Network connects cyclists to Ontario tourism businesses and locations through the promotion of Ontario’s cycling experiences, from trail and mountain bike riding to on-road cycling. As of July 2015, the Network has certified:

  • Over 1,000 locations in 33 regions and municipalities throughout Ontario
  • Certified locations in close proximity to 3 UNESCO World Biosphere Reserves
  • Over 400 accommodation locations, including hotels, inns, and bed & breakfasts
  • 18 camping facilities
  • Over 170 cafés, restaurants and other food services
  • Over 70 visitor information and tourism centres
  • 38 museums and galleries
  • Over 40 wineries, cideries and breweries
  • 3 Provincial Parks (accommodations & attractions)
  • 1 National Park (attraction)
  • 5 National Historical Sites
  • 2 bicycle-friendly business areas
